UNIVERSAL RIPSTOP JACKET
DESCRIPTION
Introduced in 1944 for the U.S. Marine Corps during the Second World War, the P-44 was a utility jacket designed for field use. Originally made in cotton herringbone twill, its roomy cut allowed freedom of movement, while large chest pockets provided practical storage for equipment.
Our modern reproduction updates this functional design in ripstop, retaining its straight, relaxed silhouette, side-entry chest pockets and buttoned flap pocket. The fabric’s distinctive grid of reinforcing threads helps prevent tears from spreading, bringing a new texture to the original military design.
Finished with a fold-down collar and metal buttons, it can be worn as an overshirt or a jacket.
