UNIVERSAL FRENCH ARMY WORK PANTS - NATURAL
DESCRIPTION
After World War II, France faced the dual task of rebuilding its armed forces and revitalizing its economy. In response, the Ministry of Defense streamlined production and introduced utilitarian garments suited to both military needs and civilian service roles. This approach led to the development of work jackets and trousers that anticipated what we now recognize as the “bleu de travail,” adopted across bases, workshops, and depots by both uniformed personnel and support staff.
In the decades that followed, these work pants became the natural counterpart to our French Army Work Jacket. Cut from heavy cotton canvas in the tradition of French workwear, they embody a practical mindset where durability mattered above all else.
The straight silhouette, reinforced stitching, and distinctive single rear pocket reflect the utilitarian spirit of the era. The dense canvas was built to withstand friction, tools, and the demands of daily labour, while keeping a clean and understated appearance.
