UNIVERSAL CANADIAN CARGO PANTS - ORANGE
DESCRIPTION
Originally based on Canadian military combat trousers from the late 1980s, the original model, issued as part of the Canadian Forces’ summer uniform, was cut from a quick-drying cotton-nylon blend that marked a shift toward lighter and more adaptable gear.
Canadian designs of the period stood out for their precision and restraint, featuring high-positioned cargo pockets sized for folded maps and a drawcord waist for adjustable comfort during long operations. By the 1990s, the model had become a quiet favorite among NATO personnel for its lightness and durability — visiting U.S. and British troops were even known to trade their own gear with Canadians to obtain a pair, a discreet mark of respect within the surplus community.
