1970 SUBMARINER TURTLENECK
DESCRIPTION
Originally associated with naval crews and cold water maritime operations, the Submariner turtleneck became a staple of 1970s European military and civilian outerwear layering. Designed to retain warmth in damp, wind exposed environments, it was worn both under heavy coats and on its own during active duty or dockside work.
Constructed in dense, insulating knit, the high roll neck provides full coverage and thermal protection while maintaining ease of movement. The compact structure traps heat efficiently, and the substantial collar can be worn folded or extended for added protection against wind and spray.
