UNIVERSAL CANADIAN ARMY FLEECE - RED
DESCRIPTION
Originally issued as part of the Canadian Army cold weather layering system in the late 1980s and 1990s, this fleece was designed as a core thermal layer for everyday military use in cold and damp environments. It was intended to be worn under a parka or shell, or on its own during movement, camp duties, and long hours on base, where reliability, ease of movement, and thermal efficiency were essential.
The fleece construction offers reliable insulation while remaining breathable and quick drying, suited to varying activity levels. High wear areas are reinforced with durable nylon panels at the shoulders, elbows, and chest to resist abrasion from packs and repeated use.
Technically straightforward and well considered, it features a full front zip for ventilation and layering, a high collar for protection against cold air, and a practical chest pocket with snap closure, positioned for easy access when wearing load bearing equipment.
